To develop the community science faculty as the centre of excellence in the area of education, research & extension education and also to create professional competencies among students in the field of food science & nutrition, human development, Resource management & consumer science, textile & apparel designing and community extension.

• To produce graduates and post graduates well equipped with Home Science knowledge and skills in their specialization to meet job requirements in Government and Non-Government sectors at state and national levels and also to meet family needs for quality living.
• Upgrading the infrastructure facilities for providing quality hands on learning experiences.
• To conduct need based and applied research and also making sincere efforts to transfer the Home Science technologies for empowerment and welfare of rural & urban families cutting across various sections of society.
